Worried about stains on your carpet? With the festive season approaching and the risk of red wine spills increasing, we have 3 easy steps to remove red wine from your carpet. With the best range of carpets Glasgow has on offer, you can be sure that we have stain proof flooring for your home, for further protection against wine stains this party season.
Step One: Blot
As soon as the spill occurs, grab a white cloth and try to blot out as much of the stain as possible. Try your best to soak up the majority of the spill so that less wine is left to remove from the carpet fibres.
Step Two: Water
Once you have blotted the carpet as much as you can, pour some wine straight onto the wine stain. The water will dilute the wine, allowing you to blot up more of the spillage, again, continue blotting until no more of the stain can come out.
Step Three: Baking Soda
Having blotted the carpet as much as possible, it is time to cover the area with a mixture of baking soda and water. Using the ratio of three parts baking soda and one-part water, create a paste which can be applied directly onto the carpet and the stain. Allow the paste time to dry, then vacuum the area to remove the stain! Check out some other excellent uses for baking soda.
