Step 1: Removing the Cause of the Stain

For the likes of food stains, you should first get the food off of your carpet. When doing so, try to avoid covering more of the carpet in the food, keeping the stained area to a minimum. Once the area is cleared, the stained area may be wet, if so, you should dab the area with a dry, white towel to remove as much of the moisture as possible.

For stains caused by the spillage of a liquid, use a white towel to carefully blot the area, removing as much of the moisture as possible. A white towel should be used to ensure that no colouring from the towel is transferred onto the carpet.

Step 2: How to Get Really Tough Stains Out of Carpet

Once the area has been cleared as much as possible, it is time to start removing the actual stain from your carpet. Fill your spray bottle with  ¼ cup of white vinegar, a tablespoon of dish  soap then fill the remainder of the bottle with water. Give the bottle a little shake before spraying the affected area. The area should then be left to soak for at least 5-10 minutes.

Step 3: Blot

After the solution has been left to soak into the stain, use a dry, clean white towel to blot the area until the stain is completely removed. If you find that the stain does not fully come out, you may wish to try a carpet cleaning solution from the supermarket, or repeat the process until the stain has been completely removed.

REVIEWS

Over the years I have bought carpets from a few different places but always felt I was dealing with foot in the door salesmen. I didn't feel like that in Joe Walkers showroom. If anything I felt they were pushing me away from the more expensive. The end result was a carpet that they claimed would be easily cleaned. I didn't really believe it would be that easy but went for it anyway. The carpet is a dream. We have a beige carpet that has had dried in dog puke, cranberries, Coke and blood. All I did was sprayed it with water and dabbed it with kitchen towel and it was spotless. It was even bone dry. The fitters did a cracking job. They said the whole house including wood flooring was 2 days work. Done in a day and the fitting team helped move the larger items of furniture about. Don't waste time going anywhere else. These guys are so focused on doing the job right.
